I have been looking at load factors on Delta and they seem quite full to Europe. I am wondering of Sept. is a busy travel month to Eruope from the USA?

I was onboard UA916 from IAD to FRA on Monday and the flight was packed in all classes. One of the FAs told me that nearly 250 people showed up with their Y-Class tickets while there are only 197 seats. They tried to put those pax on other UA/LH flights but you can guess what the problem was there...

I think this has to do with the fact that September is the first month where rates come back to a resonable level after the horribly expensive months July and August.

Had trouble with Ba2024/2025 Houston/Gatwick in Club World the last week of September and first week of October.

So, at least it's good up front..well...in the middle.

With the way the loads are looking, standby travellers are not likely to know whether or not they will make the flight until shortly before departure. If you are a nonrev, make sure you have "bump" protection on your hotel reservations and such. It also depends on which day you are travelling and which city you are going to.

It is quite possible that flights are artificially busy throughout the rest of the month to compensate for those that declined to travel on or around the 11th.

There certainly appeared to be a reasonable amount of eastbound transatlantc traffic on the last night shift I did. Fingers crossed that the market is recovering...
