Woo-hoo! Another airline giong international!

Frontier Airlines Announces Service to Cancun, Mexico
Thursday September 19, 4:23 pm ET

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2002--Denver-based Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq:FRNT - News) today announced details of its first international venture, with new non-stop service between its Denver International Airport hub (DEN) and Cancun International Airport in Cancun, Mexico (CUN), effective Dec. 20, 2002.
Frontier will operate one daily non-stop flight between DEN and CUN and will offer convenient connections beyond Denver.

Earlier this year, the airline announced that it was seeking approval from U.S. and Mexican authorities to begin international service to Mexico; Cancun is the first international city to go on sale. The airline has received approval from the U.S. government and service will commence pending Mexican government approval. Including Cancun, Frontier and its affiliate Frontier JetExpress will serve 39 cities, 38 U.S. cities and one city in Mexico.

"We are thrilled to be adding service to Cancun as this beautiful and exotic destination marks Frontier's first foray into the international marketplace," said Sean Menke, vice president of marketing and planning. "Currently, non-stop, scheduled service between Denver and Cancun does not exist, and in true Frontier fashion, we look forward to bringing Frontier's affordable fares -- now to and from Cancun -- to travelers throughout our network."

This is great to hear as for Frontier Airlines were added more new nonstop to Cancun, Mexico as for itself. This is suchs was very wonderful place into the beach of Cancun, Mexico as for itself. I actually that were there into CUN as for January 2002 as for us. So anyway, I'd hope that will be start as for service by the nonstop. Enjoy!!!

Certainly good news. Some time soon, Mazatlan and Los Cabos will be announced and should start early next year.

So that's 2 more Mexican destinations coming.

BA:

Here's an odd one for you. I've read the DOT approval of the Mexican routes.

It lists the start date of 20 December '02 for Cancun.

But it also lists a start date of 7 December '02 for the Mazatlan/Cabo service.

Now Cancun has been announced before Cabo/Mazatlan - which suggests that it will start first.

Any thoughts as to why Cabo/Mazatlan isn't starting on 7 December? Or is it, but hasn't been announced - which seems odd.

cheers

Mariner,

Cabo and Mazatlan aren't in the schedules yet either. Which means they have yet to be announced. I suspect both will be announced next month or possibly even later this month.

Not sure why the DOT has them approved to start before Cancun. I guess we'll find out.

Here is an article about the announcement in the Denver Business Journal:

This is certainly big news. Frontier has went to the next level by announcing it's first international destinations.

Anyone know if LiveTV will work on this route? JetBlue's JFK-SJU service does not have LiveTV because LiveTV only covers the North American continent. Not sure how it is with Mexico.

BA,

This is correct this one as for Jetblue were not hooked it up with LiveTV on the route from JFK-SJU flight and it is overseas flight nonstop to San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was on an the Airbus A320 itself. I suchs that is one as for myself on the internet. Well, later.
