Hi Lads:
This week I am making a day business trip to NYC. I will be taking the USAirways shuttle up and down from DCA. It's been a few years for me since I have taken the shuttle; in fact, my last trip was on the Pan Am shuttle in 1990! In any event, what should I expect from the former Allegheny/Piedmont airlines?
Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!

At least you should expect that they still fly when you want to fly! Otherwise you're in trouble!
IF they fly: Expect a cookie and a soft drink, that's it. I don't know if they still have the triple mile promotion going on, it's worth looking at their webpage.

The last few times I flew on the US Airways Shuttle on Saturdays, I got nothing but a drink and a bag of pretzels. But the Delta Shuttle gave me a snack basket with a piece of fruit, cookies, candy, and a couple of other items. But that was over two years ago when they had 727s. I don't know if it is still the same or not. I think US Airways does serve what they advertise on weekday flights. But on weekends, Delta gives you more.

When I flew the Shuttle this August I got a bag o' food. It reminded me of what TWA had with their little lunch bag deals. I got a half salami grinder, a bottle of water, a cookie, and some potato chips. The flight attendants gave them to us as we boarded the plane and as soon as we were in, I dove in. It was actually pretty good.
I will be flying the Shuttle five more times this year and look forward to it. Enjoy your flight.

This board loves to bash US Airways. If you are flying during the week, expect a light snack (bagel/sandwich type), and complimentary beer and wine. Also, you can expect to see in flight entertainment, a 15 minute updated newsreel from Fox News Channel. 20 minute check-in to gate guarantee, and a triple miles promotion. Enjoy your trip, and thanks for flying US Airways.

The older Eastern birds are a pain to support. Many of the parts, especially avionics related, are effective on those birds only. It would tickle me pink if they were not in the fleet anymore!
