According to the OAG the first service of Virgins A340-600 to Hong Kong as been put back to Nov 29th (ETD) Nov 30th (ETA). The original flight was due for mid October.
With the first CX A340-600 (B-HQB) now due in Hong Kong on November 2nd its clear that CX will have the first in service A340-600 in Hong Kong.
F-WWCC did visit Hong Kong twice in Airbus colours.

We are only planning on getting 3 of them and I think they will use them across the Pacific at first at least. If we like them I am sure we will buy more.

What makes you think that CX will get their A346 in time? Furtermore, what makes you think that CX will start operating A346 straight after the aircraft being delivered? There needs to be a bit of training and all, so do not raise your hopes high.......VS rules the skies!

There will be minimal fuss before the A346 is launched into service. Crews are not required to do any additional training on the aircraft, so we won't really see many, (if any at all) sessions of circuits and things like that. Crews have done a short one day course and taken the exam, and their exposure to the aircraft will be from flying the aircraft on the Asian routes. Cathay will try and roster most pilots on at least one trip on the Asian routes for the first month then send it off on long haul. If we get ours on November the 2nd, it will probably be in service by a week after that, which is still before the VS service.
