What did happen? 16 hours is a long time! I wonder what the passengers did for that long in Hong Kong.

This doesn't happen much with Singapore Airlines and I have flown Singapore Airlines many many many times.

I'm asking a question, if you don't like this question I'm sorry. Now can anyone tell me what happened to this 772ER in Hong Kong ?

Radarbeam, i think Hkgspotter1 is trying to ask what happened to this aircraft, as you say delay always happen though. But strange as it arrived from Singapore on time but is delayed in Hong Kong.

I just asked, he told me that he didn't check because though it's a long time but it's not a serious matter (well for him) but it's still AOG.

But since it has the estimated time already, i guess the problem is fixed.

Best Regards

With only three aircraft on this route I hope they can keep the schedule after a 16 hour + delay.

Looks like a windfall for the Airport Regal Hotel !! There aren't many other N. America-bound pax flights at that time of the night to transfer passengers to.

They should be able to keep the schedule. After all, SQ10 operates only thrice weekly. Also, I believe SIA has some 777ERs lying around.

I don't see the need for an SIA spokesman to explain to the public what has happened to the flight. After all, it is just a technical fault on ground and not in the air. The passengers were probably not in any life-threatening situation. Just a simple explanation to them by SIA, accomodation and some compensation would probably settle the situation.

my friend said it's a fuel pump problem. The delay reason is due to crew rest.

That's right, all of the fuel pump wiring bundles need to be inspected within days per Boeing' service bulletin and FAA AD. It's strange they did this in Hong Kong though.

If it turns out to be an engine problem, that is another for the Trent. I wonder if SQ is applying some pressure on RR because of all the IFSD.

I hope the crew asked the opinions of the passengers whether it was safe to continue the flight before doing so. Passengers have a right to be consulted on flight safety matters!!![Ref:http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/914674/4/]

16 hours late or not, these passengers should just be grateful they have been granted the privilege of flying Singapore Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance - the airline network for the earth.

I just feel sorry for the Jubilee!

SQ's 777s keep running into bad luck! Hope that's the last of it.....

CX773, if it's a crew problem, can't they just ask their other crews to take over the flight? 16hrs is a looong crew rest......

9V-SVA, so Carol = Singapore 777 = Male? Uh?
