Lufthansa will employ 3,800 new workers in 2003: 1,800 FAs, 340 pilots, 410 ground personnel in FRA and MUC and another 600 university/university of applied science graduades. Of those 1,500-2,000 will be new jobs, the others will be replacements. However this comes only to frutition if the economy improves and there is no new Iraq war.
After some maths I end up with a large expansation of the long-haul fleet with 6 planes leaving (2 B747-200, 4 A340-200) and 15 coming (2 A340-200, 2 A340-300, 5 A330-200, 6 A340-600) which means a net growth of 9 frames if I´m correct.

Uncommon, you´re right Airbuspilot. I can´t undestand that. I know LH recruits the majority of their pilots from their own school and take the up only with the best remarks. But this of course has nothing to do with federal authorities. Shoul think about this and complain about it - may be in the EU authorities at Brussels?

If it is the LBA that does not respond, you should complain with them. And if they do not react within a given time you should complain with the authority supervising the LBA which is the Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Bau- und Wohnungswesen (Federal Ministry for traffic and construction). Usually German authorities are working quite efficiently and have become very customer-oriented during the last couple of years (You can rest assured that Belgian administrations are an anachronism in comparison, and I know what I am talking about).
Should they really fail to comply with your request, because normally you should have received at least some kind of confirmation that it is being processed, do not hesitate to complain. It helps!
