Does anyone know if there are any other current (independent) initatives to develop a detection system for clear-air turbulence.

Also, do you believe airlines will adopt this...if so, won't all of the weather diversions overload atc's?

I like the NOAA chart that A/c dxer listed. PIREPS also prove to be an invaluable indicator of what may lie ahead on a flight path.
