OK...I flew FLL-JFK-FLL the other day on JetBlue (by the way-- the greatest airline!) from FLL's new terminal 1....I was wondering when the new concourse of that terminal (east of the existing one) is going to be completed and when it was actually planned because none of the maps even have it on there. What airlines will be filling those gates? Also- in Terminal four, it says SA serves FLL. On this board it has been stated that it is merely a technichal stop, however can you buy an FLL-(wherever this flight arrives in South Africa) ticket? Also- when you are landing for that technical stop, I hear it lands in the wee hours of the morning (3:00am or 4:00am)...is SA forced to wake sleeping passengers in perparation for landing...i would be very pissed if i got woken up....ok thanks...now my next question is regarding the new QF subsidary Australian Airlines...how many 763s are they planning on having?...many thanks

The project should be completed in a matter of weeks, maybe 2-3 months. It will be occupied by Southwest and will also allow jetBlue to expand at FLL. America West, now that they no longer are codesharing with Continental, will be moving to T3. Southwest's current space will give
SAA's FLL stop is not a techinical stop. Passengers can disembark, and given South Florida's huge South African community (the largest in the world outside South Africa), many do (and SAA codeshares with DL to LGA, CVG, and MCO). However, the flight is currently not operating because of SAA rules (and SAA desperately wants to bring back FLL; not only does the Miami area have a huge customer base for them, but it is also cheaper to operate via FLL than SID, as SAA does not have traffic rights out of SID, and SID adds more than an hour flight time on the way to Atlanta). It is only a suspension until SAA and the FAA can reach an agreement. The flight arrives in FLL at 0530 three days a week from Cape Town.

As for Jetblue will be expands as for FLL flight out to LGB, CLT, BOS, SJU, ORD and OAK as for itself by the future. Right now, they are made of the second flight crew base into FLL by the now. I did heard it as for myself by before.
Pretty soon as for SWA will be schedules move into the new terminal 1 by the new concourse B soon and I will ask as for details by Steve Belleme at my FLL airport. I'm confused about doing goes on at the FLL airport. I'll will let you know about hear as from my friend at the airport, ok? Well, goodnight!!

AO are planning to start with 4 763s and eventually build to a fleet of 12. Whether the subsequent 8 all come from the existing QF fleet is unknown. If they do QF will have to bring forward the delivery of the A330s to compensate.
