Was wondering why National doesn't have a daily non-stop fro Las Vegas to ANC? Almost sure they would have a full house! I think Alaska does LAS - ANC non-stop, but not sure.

Perhaps they should concentrate on something like, um...oh, I dunno, maybe PAYING BILLS before they consider expanding to a new market.
Then again, AS would take a sharp look in their direction and demand to know just what the hell they thought they were doing and drop the hammer on them.

Ok, now seriously, here is the deal with National:
They are lucky to be flying right now. Their loan application was turned down and they are barely getting by right now. They have just started service to Reno and are going to start to West Palm Beach, that's about all the new cities you can expect for a long time. If and when they do expand to more cities, ANC will not be one of them.

Im surprised to see National still absent from the Atlanta market. Granted both AW and DL fly the route, its a major city i think they could benefit from serving.
What happened to the plans to get smaller airplanes? Are they still in the works?

In addition to the references above concerning National's shaky financial position, SFO is now taking them to court, as referenced by this article from yesterday's Las Vegas Sun:

LoneStar, check this article out from today's Las Vegas Sun. Looks like National will pay off it's debts to SFO.

San Francisco airport, LV firm resolve payment issues
Las Vegas-based National Airlines will pay its debts to San Francisco International Airport, resolving an issue that could have derailed approval of a $30 million loan that is part of a $112 million debtor-in-possession financing package announced by the company last month.

I am really waiting for Neil Berght to write a book about taking Markair up against Alaska on their Seattle run.
Alaska will sell at a loss to protect their monopoly on that run.
