I just returned today from Paris!! I flew on Air France both ways from Washington Dulles IAD to Charles de Gaulle. I keep getting the flight numbers mixed up, sorry, but I took the second AF flight to CDG on February 24 on board the A340-300. The flight was hardly booked! It was nice to have the space. I sat in seat 27A, I believe, in any case it was over the wing. The A340 is plesantly quiet, but could use a little more legroom for tall people in coach.
(But who doesn't!) The flight attendants were extremely plesant and professional. Dinner service was as good as can be expected of airline food, however my friend said the vegetarian meal wasn't terribly good. We arrived into CDG early and the flight was only about 6h50.
Here is a message unrelated to airliners to say that Paris is a fabulous city. 99.99% of all of the Parisien people that I met were friendly. Let it not be said that the French are rude.
I returned from Paris on AF 28 this afternoon on the 777-200. It was interesting to be able to expereince a large Boeing and Airbus on one trip! We left CDG behind a CO 777, a Delta 767 and several AF flights. I was over the wing again, seat 29A. I actually think the A343 is a little quieter than the 777.
The fligt attendants were nice, but not as energetic as the crew on the IAD-CDG route. L'espace 127 was barely booked, and Tempo had many seats open.
I love the spaciousness of the 777 - cabin, bathroom, etc. Like the 343, the 777 has seatback video. Unlike the A343, the 777 headrest doesn't have those 'ears' that support your head. (PS - CDG needs to be renovated!!!!!)
It is hard to say which plane I prefer, I loved each one! I can defintely reccomened AF!!!! I am sorry that people advised me that AF is a bad airline when I made posts last month. I really liked it and would gladly fly on AF again, Airbus or Boeing.
Other comments would be nice to hear!
