Aeroflot ordered some 767-300s recently. They´re meant to replace the 2 777s and older 767s currently operated. When will the 777s be put on the secondhand market?

are you sure about this?

The 2 777s Aeroflot flys are barely 4 years old. Perhaps they are returning them to ILFC because of low load factors?

Yes, the loadfactors call for the 767 rather than the 777. I read this in several aviation magazines. The aircraft will be returned to the lessor. It would be interesting to know when.

Pitty the airline that gets those two nails - they'll need some serious interior refurbishment.

Andy, how come? Do they get misused? The planes were new when delivered...does Aeroflot not keep them in top shape?

Hello,

Flight International (23-29 July 2002) indeed reports that ARIA is considering disposing of its current 777s and A310s in favor of "up to nine" 767-300ERs. "Deliveries are likely to begin in 2004."

Skymonster,

Regarding your statement "Pity the airline that gets those two nails - they'll need some serious interior refurbishment", are you thinking in terms of Aeroflot's annoying smoking policy?

If this does indeed take place, I could see them both going to Biman, who are in the market for leased 777s.

I flew Aeroflot 777 last year. The interiors were in a terrible state - probably the worst I've seen an aircraft cabin. Dirty overall, stained and ripped seats, sides from many headrests missing, broken seat back tables, missing bits from armrests... They just generally had the appearance, inside, of an airplane that had been in service for three years where during that time no one had done any interior repairs or tidy up whatsoever.
