This article is in today's Austin American Statesman: Air Traffic Contollers: Austin, Texas runway 5K race could cause delays 10/12/2002 http://archives.californiaaviation.org/airport/msg23540.html
The runways will be closed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. The race starts at 7:00 p.m.. It's $15.00 to register. The above article tells you where you can register, either in person or online.
Is anyone from the Austin area planning to go?

Yeah, I registered for it at runtex.com on Friday. I usually run at Town Lake so this is a nice change!

No way, closing a runway(s) at a semi-busy airport could cause delays?!? lol

Unfortunately, due to heavy rains (and more on the way tomorrow) the race has been postponed until Sunday, November 24 at 8:00 a.m.

I'm actually kind of glad it was postponed. It will be a lot easier for me to make it on a Sunday morning rather than a Friday night, not to mention 8:00 a.m. is a much better time to take pictures rather than 7:00 p.m. when it's dark.
