Damn...I'm not going to be able to go see it.

Anyway, in simplified terms, the a/c is scheduled to arrive at SAN around 4:40pm, and depart at 7:14pm.

Only a short stay, but still nice!

Maiznblu_757,

If possible, could you keep us posted about any other irregular cargo flights operating to SAN because of the port reopening? Thanks!

Wilco... When I can, I will... Im stationed aboard Nimitz and we go in and out often, but, when Im in, I will. North Island has been getting numerous 747's from Atlas Air lately... If only they landed over the Coronado Beach.

Thanks for the heads up, I actually saw the World Airways MD-11 on finals as I was driving home from work, I'm sure glad I read this post yesterday, otherwise I would have wondered what the heck it was.

Cheers for the info.

A bit off the topic...But I have seen an RNZAF 727 at SAN and more recently an RAAF Hawker at SAN. Both went to Jim's Air. Why would they go there and not Miramar or North Island?

Are the heavies restircted from using 27 at North Island? (I notice they almost always come in on 18/36 Hate that. )

Tony

All heavies I have seen use Runway 36 for landing, 18 for departure. You will never see a heavy land on 18 or 09... 27 is possible, but, why when you have 36... I agree, I wish they would use 27. It would be nice seeing one of those Atlas 747's land over the beach.

Hey Maiz, Heres another question for you then....

I was out at the beach today to kill some time. Crap weather for photos, which is too bad since I got an EA-6 with CAG colors and an orange/green -46. Grrrrrr.

But I saw 2 C-9's come in and deapart. Both of them took of on 09!!! Departing over the beach and Hotel Del! Very odd....Any reason why they would do this? Everyone else made the normal 27 departure....

Ehhh, theres always an AF C130 in there. I like to catch them at Brown when they fly jumps for the SEALs. You can get right up to them for photos.

I missed the photo but at least one Canadian F18 was in this afternoon.

I saw the C130 too, when I was at the airport on Saturday. However, there were two 727s parked next to it. I'm not sure which airlines they belonged to, but both looked like charter outfits to me.

I'll probably just watch the airshow from my friend's house in La Jolla...he's got a great view of NKX.

The Blue Angels did acrobatics literally right overhead my school today (I got to school in University City). It was amazing!

I be there Saturday.... Holla.

I live about 5 minutes away from KSDM.

Great airport, especially in the winter... All the Bizjets coming back passing customs is awesome.

One of the 727's was a Mexican federal prisons aircraft.
