Ever Been On An A/C's First Revenue Flight? (more)

This one question is actually two.

First, ever been on a TYPE's maiden flight? Example: BA 777 flight from London to D.C., 6/95.

Second, any single aircraft's first flight after delivery to an airline? Example: Yesterday, first flight of first 717 delivered to TWA, STL-DFW.

Closest I came was a 2 week old MD-83 on TWA in July. Smelled new. Cool.

i flew on two delivery aircraft belonging to Qantas.

both flights operated from Vancouver non-stop to sydney after the aircraft was ferried up to YVR from boeing field.

the seats are sold on a cost recovery basis only.

full service from First through to economy was offered.

my two reg's were VH-OJL and VH-OJO, 744!

this was in the early nineties and i am not sure if this practice continues. it was done to offset the cost of transporting the plane down under.
