Well, this trip was supposed to have happened a while ago but, fate intervened and so now, after several aborted attempts, I am finally scheduled to travel in January. I am going to be flying JFK-ATH (economy, of course) and my TA has quoted me similar fares for both BA and LX (LH was slightly cheaper than the two but its hateful change policies in relation to the other two have forced me to remove it from consideration) so I have to make a choice between the two. So, my question to all of you is which would you choose? I realize that economy is pretty much the same on every airline but is there something about either of these two carriers that would make you choose it (or not) over the other?
Any and all help in this matter is greatly appreciated!

I would say go with what aircraft you would like to fly. I personally like the A330 but LX's are suppose to be a little cramped, though BA's 744's don't seem to be too hot for legroom either. Between the two, I do find BA's food rather dissapointing and having worked for the company I can recommend them, but I would reccomend LX more.
They are pretty much similar in the back, ZRH & LHR are great airports as well.
Ah heck, its UR decison, I'm having a though time trying to tell you which one is better. Take which ever one you want to fly more.

On your way to ATH, fly through Geneva. The connecting time is good (you arrive at GVA at 9.15 and departs at about 11.00) and this airport is great if you like biz jet. The airport is nice and is not a big hub but all the facilities are available.
On your way back to JFK, I think you will fly through ZRH.
The transatlantic flight will be with an A330 and then you will have the opportunity to try the ARJ100 (GVA-ATH) and A320/1 (ATH-ZRH).
