American Airlines' inagural second daily service between Miami and London's Heathrow Airport will take off in a matter of hours, when AA 113 departs London Heathrow Airport. The seasonal service will be operated on a daily basis by an Boeing 777-200 through 29 March 2003. If succsesful, it will hopefully go year-round, or at the least return next year. Miami has been lucky to be one of the strongest trans-Atlantic markets as of late, with trans-Atlantic flights off by only three less weekly crossings compared to August 2001. Westbound service will leave Heathrow at 0800 and arrive in Miami at 1245, allowing for travelers to easily connections to AA's Caribbean network and to make it to thier hotel by late afternoon. Eastbound service will leave Miami at 2345 and arrive at Heathrow 1320. This schedule allows business travelers a full business day in Miami before heading to Europe, and also allows AA to compete with the very popular midnight departures offered by Iberia, Air France, and Martinair Holland.

The Miami-London market is also served twice daily by British Airways with 747-400 service to Heathrow and daily by Virgin Atlantic with 747-400 service to Gatwick.

Hopefully this service will be successful and a money maker for AA. God knows they need the $$$$$$$$.

Never take financial advice from co-workers.
