According to Kuala Lumpur International Airport's (KUL) arrivals, there's a Aeromexico flight arriving into KUL from Cairo at 7 am local time (11pm GMT). The flight number is AM 200. However, the flight is delayed and there are no further departures for Aeromexico at KUL. Does anyone know why is there an Aeromexico flight coming into KUL and flying from Cairo? Aeromexico do not have any scheduled flights into KUL.

Mhz,
As far as I know, Mexican dignataries seldom or never use commercial airlines for their transport. . .but who knows, there is always an exception. I'm more inclined to think its some sort of charter though. Probably a 767-200. Funny thing, I was supposed to be in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore around these days, but it got postponed until February next year. It would have been odd to fly halfway around the world and find an AM plane at KLIA!!

Perhaps it was flight AMM200 which would be a charter service ex-UK?
More than likely this was a charter flight anyway. Cairo is also an important tourist destination for Malaysians - so it could be a Malaysian charter too.
Incidently, Mexicana and Aeromexico were looking to fly to KUL in the early 1990s, during the good ol'days when MAS flew twice weekly to MEX, until the US DoT pulled the plug on the route to protect US carriers on the LAX-MEX sector.
