Have you ever heard someone carry on that they were going to build their own flight simulator? I have and I often just said yeah right...... but it's not always true.
One lucky gentleman down here in Australia has done it and in a very grand way too. With many parts from a real Boeing 747 this simulator is basically the real thing, or as real as one could get without spending a few million dollars!
The simulator is used on an annual basis for a "Worldflight" which is a flight around the world in the simulator to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service which is an organisation that provides urgent medical assitance for those living in the outback and in remote areas of our country.
More information on this annual event, and indeed more info on the actual simulator, can be found at . If you can spare a few quid, bucks, roubles, baht or yen visit the site and make a donation. The money will go towards buying more aircraft and keeping those aircraft that they (Royal Flying Doctor Service) currently have flying safely.
Here are some pictures taken in the simulator today as it approached and landed in Frankfurt.
