AF 742 @ EWR

Yesterday it was the Concorde. Now today we have another rare bird at EWR. Air France 747-228B F-BPVX is at the gate over at Terminal B as I write this. I thought AF was retiring all their remaining 742's?

AF004/005 normally operate with an A343. I have not seen an AF 742 at EWR in almost a year. I think then its appearance today qualifies as a rare event, don't you?

Last 742 I saw was about 14 months ago with the soccer player painted on the rear cabin section..

WOW! Wish I didnt have to go to school so I could see them!!

maybe so, but there really hasnt been one for over a year.. Id call that rare.

Perhaps not as rare as a Concorde, but compare it to a CO 735 at Newark, and yeah, its rare.

so if you had some sort of sexual relations 2 years ago and havent had one until today, you wouldnt call the recent experience a rariety just because it happend often in the past?

I myself would consider the apperance a rare visit. just wish we got that kind of stuff here in PHX!

I saw another AF 742 on Sunday, pretty weird....

by the way, i found out it's a 742 only after I got home and use the flight tracker. It was too dark to identify any planes at EWR anyway (~5:15pm)

Heavy fog at JFK yesterday morning brought the Concorde to EWR. Sometimes the fog is as thick as pea soup at JFK, yet only 35 miles away at EWR it can be crystal clear.

Post 9/11, a pax 742 at EWR is a rare event. 777's, 744's, and 343's are the name of the game now.
