They keep moving the date around, but right now mid 2003 looks somewhat firm. I think they realize the 727s are more reliable and roomy than the MD-88s!(plus the crews and mtc like em better!)

ROC to ATL's 727's will be replaced by MD88's and a CRJ700. I thought we'd at least rate a 738 or MD 90. 757 ? Doubt it.
Sure will miss the pax 727.

The MD-90s seem to only be based at DFW and SLC... I may be wrong, but I used to put a good 150k miles a year in on DL and I rarely if ever saw one at ATL.

I've flown them frequently from DFW-DCA, and I flew one once SLC-SMF.

Roomy and reliable????? The 727 fleet is long overdue for the scrapper. Outside of the cockpit, I no longer know of any crew members that like the 727. It has smaller bins for bags. Hence you have to pry baggage from passengers who come on after the bins have filled. The seats are shoehorned in. I think the MD-88 is a lot more comfortable.

Maintenance liking this plane? Hardly. The damn things are falling apart.

They were fun for the many years that they were around. But they are old school (No video systems, No vacuum waste systems) and wont be missed by me. ADIOS!!!!!!!!

As for ROC.......DAY got a few 757's. ORF got a bunch of em. MCI gets them (All to ATL on DL). With DL siphoning 757's to fly to the Carribean and to the piece of S**T Low Cost Carrier BULLS**T Operation. Which by the way is likely to be staffed by non Delta employees. (If the dumbass f/a's at DL voted in a union this move would be called union busting and the employees at the LCC would be called SCABS. Maybe DL and its S**T for Brains Managers wouldn't even consider such a move.

ROC is stuck with MD-88's for the immediate future. Maybe a beat to death former DL Express 737-200 will revisit the station for mainline flying.

Thanks for the insight . I'm sure non-enthusiastic f/a's don't like the 727. But no airline is going to keep a fleet for enthuists . Anyways,looks like 757's are out of the question,wasn't expecting one anyway. I hope that the MD88's are painted in new colors,some of those 727's are still in old colors-and the look real bad.....You can keep the 737-200's too......
