Hi all,

Anybody knows when the first A340-600 would arrive (date, time) at HKG? Anyone would be there to spot it?

Regards

It will apparently fly HKG-TPE every morning in December so that many crews can get exposure to the aircraft, and it can be kept near it's home base.

The second A346 is due on the 17th of December.

A bit (well, very) off-topic, but since when did CX start deploying A340-300s to Vancouver? They seem to be deploying these left right and centre, what with AKL getting three extra a week, Heathrow switching from some 744 deployment to 343s.... I know JNB and SFO switched the other way but why the sudden change in aircraft?

Well still off topic some of the 34C destinations like AKL seem to have EQV on some on the flights, CX117-118 is always EQV, same with 107 but 108 is listed as 34C. Whatever happened to 34S with the new first and Business?

So where else will the 346's fly other than JFK and TPE?

They are in the schedules for CX881-880 to LAX 3 days a week thats in January, not sure when they start. The 343 routes are listed as EQV on several routes like AMS and FCO. Strange that YVR gets the 34C daily on CX838-839, still 744 on the other flight though that goes to JFK CX888-889.

Did someone say that CX 873/874 (HKG-SFO route) switched back to the A340-300?  Confused

ZK-NBT: 34C is with new First and Business. 34S is new First only - the three (XA, XB, XL) have been converted to 34C.

If CX are going to advertise their new J class product so heavily they should at least be committing 34Cs to Auckland before anywhere else.

OK, in response to the off-topic question, I think I know why......

For CX 108 / 107, they keep is as "34C" as possible... Only on the last few days of November. Those days are one of the busiest days of CX, just before the high season kicks in. People like me, going to Hong Kong to visit relatives, fly off right during those days, so when they mean EQV, it's almost surely a 744, just to get extra capacity.....

CX 118 /117, they don't really plan for business class passengers to fly on them, according to a friend of mine who works for a travel agent here in NZ. Most business class passengers, especially those they target, fly to Europe, and will take the 108 flight. CX 118/117 are mainly for the mainland chinese passengers, allowing them to get same day connections into China......

And back to the topic.... I might go catch the new planes as well on that day. What time are they supposed to land?

So as 30 November is approaching, does anyone have any info on the exact time the aircraft is scheduled to arrive HKG?
