Commonality?? Most airlines like to have a family of engines (Like some aircraft like a family of aircraft. If one airline sticks to Rolls-Royce, than they will have a common engine family, and mechanics will not have to deal with "foreign" engines. If a Mechanic is good at Rolls-Royce, than why would you stick him in front of a P&W or GE. and Vice Versa, Vice Versa.
