Star Alliance has unveiled a new corporate livery for its member airlines which will be carried by at least one aircraft in each Star carrier’s fleet.
Asiana will be the first to introduce the new livery in March 2003.
Aircraft will have ‘STAR ALLIANCE’ in large plain script running along most of the fuselage while the corporate branding of the individual carrier will be painted underneath this main title, on the forward fuselage.
The vertical fin will be painted black and carry the Star logo.
So the logos from all airlines will disappear, and the simple black-and-white design is not really exciting... The didn't have the courage to go for an all-black plane, as had been considered.

Don't think Singapore Airlines will paint an aircraft though, due to some superstition(they did not paint any a/c in special livery after SQ006). Would be nice to see it on a 772ER or a 744!
Konstantin, will the Asiana one be on a 767, 777 or 747?

I also just had a look at the new livery and it isn't really anything special and I do prefer the current livery with the logos on the fuselage which adds some color to the planes. Best will probably be to just wait and see how the actual plane will look like as there are many chances of them maybe doing the one or other change yet before Asiana introduces it.

Interesting to say the least? Now there was a story on here about the QF/BA aircraft 747-400 that had the tail of BA world images and yet was leased to QF and supposedly the LAX authorities wanted it changed or removed as they could tell whether it was QF or BA? How true this is I do not know but imagine what would happen at LAX if all the Star Alliance aircraft arrived painted in this one pattern...........LA tower trouble???

The new one sucks It would be cool if they got all the airlines to change the coulor of there liver aircraft and titals to star but keep there idividual desingns say bmi could have black where white is and grey where blue is and star where bmi is that look kool.

Maybe is Air Orange the designer?
It reminds me a bit to his Air Malta livery
About this livery: I hope they keep the actual one, because the new one is rubbish...

27 Sk945: It perhaps aint the most wonderful livery, but the most practical. With this new livery they dont have to a repaint everytime a new airline join star.

30 Aussiestu: Totally agree with you Crosswind! Flying around with a bankrupt airlins name on your fuselage must be slightly amusing to others outside the alliance

38 Dragon-wings: Why can't they just update the current livery?
39 Airways: Nice drawing, Mikephotos! It remindes me on the prototypes of new airliners. They're featuring the tail-logos of the launch customers on the fuselage.
