If you could see a plane at any airport, any airline, any situation you want what would it be?
1. Fully loaded 747-300 (with P&W) take off on DFW's 17C, me standing at the observation area
2. Fully loaded 747SP (with P&W) take off Kai Tak's rwy 13, me in a boat a little off the runway in the water...

My dream spotting places would be Manston, Kent, UK, and Oostende, Belgium - what I would to hear those whining JT-3D turbofans on an old DC-8 or 707. Two summers ago, I spotted a KC-135 flying over New Jersey, USA - it brought tears to my eyes. I have a real soft spot for those early Boeings and Douglas jets.

.. that the CPH management decided to remove all the construnction junk they've put in front of Flyvergrillen... And that they turn the old tower (they're supposed to start construction on a new one soon) into a dedicated spotters area!

My wishes are rather pedestrian.
I would like to see something besides narrowbodies, ie, 737's, 757's, MD80's and A319's at my home airport (AUS). There are a few larger cargo jets, such as FedEx's DC-10 but they do not take off on the runway that's near the observation deck
Firings, if well done, are good for employee morale.

Mine would have to be the following...
Qantas Wunala Dreaming 747-400 approaching Kai Tak on the IGS approach in horrible weather. 15 feet from the ground, VH-OJB aborts the landing and go's around. Tries another 3 times before finally touching down on the runway with its nose out into victoria Harbour! I really wish I had just seen Wunala Dreaming at Kai Tak when i was there!!

I would like to see the US 747 Air Force One make a visit to DFW and know a little in advance in order to bring a camera. It would preferably be somewhere near the ramp or Founders Plaza to get a clear good picture.

I see Pinal Air Park almost every day, I'm from the era of the narrow body four engines, I've seen all the pistons fly and I've seen most of the older small airliners in service. I'm somewhat afraid that I have nothing left in this field. Sad isn't it.
My dreams nowadays lean toward other things but I fully understand what you all mean.
I wait for the day when I die and God grants me the ability to go back to the 1950s and feel the prop blast of an airport filled with DC-6s, -7s, Connies and Strats. No jets.

hrrrm, how about... lets say a few B747-400's and B777's in Pan Am colors departing JFK, SFO, LAX, MIA, ATL,etc.. for places like HKG, LHR, CDG, FRA, Dakar, JHB, GIG, BKK, SYD, NAN, FCO, CAI, and so on...
so i'm a bit of airline history buff and wish PAA coulda made it... They were the greatest.. IMHO
