Hey guys I read this today at their website

"CEBU Pacific Air launched its flights to Singapore on Oct. 1, marking the beginning of its daily service between the city-state and Manila.

Early bird flight 5J-803 is scheduled to leave Manila at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 1, while flight 5J-804 will leave Singapore at 12:05 p.m. As in its other regional services, CEB will use a 179-seater Boeing 757 aircraft for this route.

The airline previously began its services to South Korea and Hong Kong with special introductory fares.

CEB began its regional expansion with twice-daily flights to Hong Kong in November 2001 and four times weekly service to Seoul in March 2002.

The airline currently uses its two newly acquired Boeing 757s. It is set to take delivery of a third 757 later this year for its expanding international service.

CEB vice president for passenger and cargo sales Salvador Ramirez said the Singapore service would cater to the leisure market and the overseas Filipino workers. According to statistics from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, some 26,305 OFWs left the country for Singapore last year.

Not counting OFW arrivals, Singapore tourism statistics pegged the Philippines as among the top 12 largest visitor-generating markets in April and May this year, with 21,411 tourists from the Philippines in May alone.

Cebu pacific flies twice daily to Hong Kong and four times a week to Korea.

Manila To Hongkong (Daily)
Flight 5J-110 ETD 0700 ETA 0900
Flight 5J-118 ETD 1640 ETA 1840

Hongkong To Manila (Daily)

Flight 5J-194 ETD 1340 ETA 1840

Seoul To Manila (Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sun)
Flight 5J-195 ETD 1950 ETA 2250

Cebu Pacific also flies to Singapore daily.

Manila To Singapore (Daily)
Flight 5J-803 ETD 0730 ETA 1055

Singapore To Manila(Daily)
Flight 5J-804 ETD 1205 ETA 1530"

I also read that they want to start service to Bahrain. I read this from Airliners magazine.

KL808,
Thanks for posting the flight #'s and flight times in your post.

Well this is definitely great news for Cebu Pacific and even better for travellers due to increased competition. Filipinos returning home as well as Singaporeans visiting Manila will now have three reliable carriers to shoose from - PAL, SQ and now Cebu Pacific.

I just wish Cebu Pacific would have started thier flights later in the night to possibly feed other flights that come in late at night at SIN (ie. UAL flights from HKG and NRT).

Cebu Pacific is a great airline and good to see them expanding abroad. I flew domestic with them and really liked the "inflight games" they have - makes it much more personable! Now if only those colourful 757s would make trails for KUL...

Trickijedi,
If 5J met UA flts at SIN, wouldn't that mean a middle of the night departure?

Yes it would since UA flights come in at around 11:55AM or so. I know, it's wishful thinking on my part.  Innocent

A little bit off topic, but Cebu Pacific has just added DC-9-31 RP-C1544 (ex-USAirways) to its fleet. Hope this one will also get a stunning livery...

What I know though is that 5J has code share agreements with NW.

so I dont know if meeting flights in SIN from UA would help at all... besides NO one will wanna fly with UA to SIN and then to MNL that will just be too long.

I understand that `new' DC-9 will get the colous from one of the old special coloured DC-9's that was grounded.

KL808,

Sure there are some who will fly to SIN and then to MNL on UA. Remember when UA flights from ORD to SIN were priced around $500? In fact, they were even around $600 just a month ago. Anyway, many travelers for that route instead of paying $1,300 to transit in HKG and then to MNL. Even with the price of an overnight stay in SIN, they still come out way ahead. Admittedly, there are those who'll just front the cash for the shorter flight but there are also those who are more than happy to take a longer flight for less money.

BTW, UA flights to SIN are still very competitive so (unlike flights and prices to HKG) so I'm sure this is still current practice.
