In two of the photo's below, ZK-NBJ has only one emergency exit but in a more recent photo the aircraft has two. Was a second exit retrofitted? If so why?

ZK-NBJ is one of several ex-Britannia B767-200s operated by Air New Zealand - as such it has always had 2 overwing exits on each side. It was orginally G-BLKW in Britannia service.

On the first photos they appear not to have been outline painted as they are not actually required in low-density configuration, but they are still visible...

I think that it's not the same aircraft. They may have retired the one with 1 over-wing exit and replaced it with one that has 2 over-wing exits but the new aircraft was given the same tail number as the old 767 that was retired.

Thanks Much,
Daniel

Daniel, For some reason, I believe that theory is wrong.

Mr. AirNZ, If you look closely at the first photo, you will see a space where the emergency exit is (and a small sticker above the window) Look at the outlined emergency exit, and tell me what you see above the window. Question is now answered.

The Britannia aircraft with double overwing exits also appeared in the colors of TWA and Air Aruba and Aeromar during leases
