As I have said before I have been out of the loop for a while because my computer sucks . What is delta planning to do with there 737-200's used for the "Delta Express"? I heard instead of retirement they are going to main line them again. Is that true? Thanks!

They will be based in CVG and possibly another city like DFW later in 2003. DAL has said they will be returned to a 2 class configuration. Long range planning (if there can be such a thing now-a-days) sees them starting to be replaced/augmented by a new 100 seat airplane about 3-4 years from now.

The 73Ss will be very very welcome back into the mainline fleet. Everyday you can see CR7s and AT7s flying at capacity with no suitable replacement; M88 you are looking at nearly doubling capacity.
Starting in Feb, TOL is looking at going to 9 daily flights with a new FRJ being added in at 10:00am...with an AT7 leaving at 10:45am. I would assume this would be an instance where the 737 would come in and replace the AT7 and FRJ flights (of course the 9 flights to CVG alone a day is nice). I would also expect some baiting by TOL - DL will get a new lower level boarding bridge for the RJs and a new jet bridge will be going in at the upper level gate right next to theirs. Now to figure out how they plan on hooking the lower level bridge up to a FRJ.

As mentioned, the 732's will be going into CVG starting in January. It would be nice to see DL send some of the 732's into smaller markets like TOL, but I have doubts that it will happen. DL needs those 732's to fill in for the 727's that are retiring (DL has deferred delivery of all Boeing aircraft in 2003)...plus DL will need some of the capacity to back-fill for the 757's being pulled from mainline to the new LCC.
As is, DL continues to pull mainline out of many markets....SHV will lose its last two mainline flights and CAK lost its one mainline to ATL.
