This is torching i.e. a tailpipe fire.It is common on the
CFM56 series engine at first start on a new engine.what is actually being burned is the engine fuel system preservative,makes for a great light show!
Obviously someone knew of this and was ready with a camera.

WHOA!! Although it's just a testing on the engines of the 733, this is guaranteed to scare the passengers half to death if there were any on board!
Are the tires melted? No, if you look carefully enough, there are actually a couple of blocks holding the tires shown in place. Besides, they're too far from the flames!
