Early season snowstorm moving up the U.S. East Coast. Presently EWR experiencing up to 4 hour delays. Many cancellations and diversions inevitable. Right now snow is coming down very heavy. Takeoffs averaging only 1 every 10 minutes.

few minutes ago, they have closed RWY4R. The traffic is bad. I listen to EWR TWR (121.800) all day long. Many planes are stuck, waiting for their turn. Living in Woodbrdige, which is some 7 NM from EWR it is very quiet today.
There was one COA flight, which was waiting for their gate more than 20min. Also, TWR said that the delay was about 1.5 to 2 hrs.

NW cancelled most of the DTW-EWR flights today. The have one operating this evening....they are sub-ing in a 757-300, not a regular visitor to EWR, needed for capacity since all others were cancelled today, it should be en-route now.

7 inches officially as of 8PM at LGA, and snowfall amounts range from 6-10 inches all over the area. I was looking at all the inbound and outbound LGA/JFK/EWR flights on airport monitor earlier, and traffic was way down...

I work for the State in Downtown Newark (Halsey Street), the State let us go early at 2PM. I didn't get home (Manalapan, Monmouth County) until 4:30, usually at rush hour it takes me an hour and 10 minutes to get home.
The Turnpike was fine but from exit 11 to the Raritan tollplaza took over an hour, they didn't plow the Parkway and they only had 4 toll lanes open at the Raritan toll plaza.

because theere wasn't much of a reason to fly into CLE, they landed in PIT, no big deal, they were at PIT for a few hours and then got on their way to EWR. There's no reason to fly to CLE, the flt wasn't cancelled, just merely diverted at which point the airline would have to worry about getting the pax to the original destination. Flying to a hub would just cost more money, for no reason

kinda worded my last statement funny, i just meant that the flt wasn't cancelled so at PIT the airline did not have to worry about getting the pax to the original destination by some means of transportation
