Alitalia 206? to the US?
Interesting, ALL of AZ's flights to the US are either 6XX flights or 7XXX (Codeshare with DL)...
Not sure what you saw. THe only 777 service to the US right now is AZ610 FCO-JFK/AZ611 JFK-FCO

Ciao,
according to the website, Alitalia doesn't operate any 206 flight.
Anyway, the website often doesn't work fine (or it's my pc).
How do you know it was flight 206? Were you listening to ATC?
Could it be a special ferry flight for a 777 from Italy (FCO) to Cambridge for crew rest area fitting at Marshall Aerospace?

It's definately 206, i hear the pilot loud and clear on "133.600"
It's not the first time i've heard Alitalia 206 and saw one of there planes a few minutes later passing my house .... I would like to get to the bottom of this and find the explanation.
Thanks for your time so far guys

Shaun-
Hope this helps...
DEPARTURE ARRIVAL FLIGHT FREQUENCY
FCO 15:15 LHR 17:00 AZ206 M T W T F S S
The flight is from FCO-LHR and seems to operate on Saturday's only. Assuming, from the AZ timetable I have in hand, this flight is operated by an:
Airbus A321
So, while definitely not a 763 or 777, there is an AZ 206.
Also, it could possibly be an A/C substitute or, perhaps if you saw a 777, it's their third 777 (I-DISO "Positano") doing inter-european crew training flights.
