The Amazing Race 3 visited KUL twice. The first time was when the contestants flew in from Geneva to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and the other was when all of them flew from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City via KUL.

It’s pretty smart for Ian and Teri to fly from Geneva to KUL via Vienna, since Austrian Airlines offer one of the earliest arrivals from Europe, where as the rest of them went via Paris-CDG. But in the end, it doesn’t really make a big difference since all of them were on the same train to Singapore! But I was pretty surprised that Zurich flights are fully booked for that day and Paris was still available.

The shot where they show MAS touching down at KUL, I doubt that was actually KUL since I can see some majestic mountains in the background. I don’t think there are any mountain ranges near KUL! And when they flew in from Singapore to KUL, I did not realize that it was actually an American MD-80 until someone mentioned it in this forum! Also, you could see MAS’ new fabric colors for their B737 when Ian and Teri took the MH 602 from Singapore to KUL. And I don't think MAS use their A330s for their flight to SGN often.

But the 10th and 11th episode did a great job by showing KUL to the world though! Plus, I didn’t even know they have sleeper seats available to passengers at KUL. I think that’s a great idea especially for passengers having a long transit at KUL.

regards.

I don't think the new fabric was on MH602. It was on the flight from KL to SGN. But on this topic, I was wondering why they did not wait a little longer for a direct flight opting instead to go to KL.

The direct flight from SIN to SGN arrived at 10.05 AM local time, whereas MH's flight from KUL arrived at 10.00 AM local time... only 5 minutes different, but to them, 5 mins may be important

Yeah, but when you consider that the racers would be less tired and the fact that they actually GOT LOST in Vietnam, the result could be much different. But of course, this is all said on hindsight. Especially since two of the teams went on SIA, I was surprised they were not offered direct flights by the agent on the phone. Perhaps the direct flight was fully booked, we'll never know.

And Flo wouldn't have to bitch about not cutting the immigration queue etc.

THe LAST THING i would do in Vietnam is to get into trouble with the immigration people there.

Can someone please ask Flo to SHUT UP? There just isn't enough SHUT UP for her is there?

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I like the show. All the planes and airport shots are the bomb!

I'm hoping Flo and Zach get kicked off next. Zach is alright, but Flo! She's a real partypooper. Always whining. I can't believe Zach is putting up with how she is flirting and what not with one of the twins (can't remember which).

I was rooting for the fire and police guy, but they got kicked off. Then I was going for John Vito and Jill. They got kicked off. Now I'm rooting for Ken and Gerard (sp?). Now they are last. They're always falling all over stuff. Make the show more interesting.

Well,have fun.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
