Someone was talking about Continental's LAX hub. I am looking at several Continental schedules from the mid-80's and they also flew LAX to Tampa, San Diego and Tahiti. Looks like the main hub was Denver followed by hubs at Houston (both Hobby and Intercontinental) as well as Newark, Washington Dulles, New Orleans, Honolulu, Guam, LAX and a small connecting port at San Jose CA. They had many flights to Laguardia from Florida and flew to just about every city in the US from the size of Casper and up. Interestingly they also flew nonstop Miami to London and JFK to Honolulu. I don't think the mainline serves JFK anymore. I wonder why?

I would like to see CO do some of those
routes again! I would love to see CO have
a west coast presence! Didn't they buy out
some airlne in DEN along time ago? That's
why it became their hub right? CO is going
to start flying to SJC this spring from Huston
and maybe EWR. I think those routes will be
money makers!

They bought Frontier in Denver in 1986 but had a large presence there before that.

EWR is 30 miles away from JFK. Their main hub on east coast is EWR so they dont have needs to run some service out of JFK.
Do they have any service out of JFK?????
