Saw a BWIA 737-??? fly into Dallas Love Field yesterday (3/15). Very interesting. Rumour is SWA has purchased it from BWIA. With Boeing 737 delivery slowdown Southwest (and others) must be scrounging for second hand aircraft every chance they get.

Anyone have any more info? Thanks.

If the 737 was in BWIA's old colors, then it is a -700, if it is the new colors (not likely) it is a -800. Since BWIA only used the -700s on a lease until they got their -800s, and had no intention of getting any -700s preminatly, SWA is probably just leasing the plane now that BWIA is done with it and hasn't painted it yet.

Southwest won't be getting the -800. They don't want aircraft that big.

Hi Y'all!
Some more details on this matter (as found on www.airlinersonline.com):

BWIA West Indies Airways' (Port of Spain) leased Boeing 737-700 9Y-TJI (in
the old colors) has been returned with the arrival of larger Boeing 737-800s (as
planned). The aircraft has gone to Southwest as N799SW.
