Airplane French line on the verge of a tragedy

Aeronautics investigates
RAFAEL I CASTRATE

AIRPORT LAS AMÉRICAS, SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. -

Airplane of Air France that had a forced landing.

An airplane of the air line Air France that made a flight from Paris, France, towards Santo Domingo was on the verge of seeing itself surrounded in a tragedy when the pilot of airship 747, with more than 400 passengers on board, seted out, by error, to descend in opposite direction of the runway.
The panic seized of great part of the 439 passengers of the flight 3698, between which there was Dominican and European, when the pilot of the airship had to again elevate the ship when receiving a fast warning of the one of the air controllers on watch in the control tower of the airport Américas.
The unexpected situation created panic not only between the passengers, but between the employees and visitors of the aerial terminal that they observed with astonishment when the airship that almost touched the ground rose suddenly to avoid a tragic accident.
Aeronautical technicians on watch in the airport the Américas Jose Francisco Rock Go'mez attributed the mistake of the pilot to the lack of knowledge of the geographic area of the runway.
They explained that if the driver of the ship does not obey the recommendation of the controller the airship would have derailed, because the landing would have happened outside the track and the consequences would have been unpredictable, due to the structure and the great volume of passengers and loads of Jumbo 747. Dominican coming from Europe and the foreigners dismounted soon and nervous of the great scare who happened.
Some passengers explained that the flight was planned to reach six from afternoon from the last Sunday, but the airship presented/displayed problems in the international airport of Paris and all were lowered when they were within the airplane.
They showed that they were transferred to a hotel and after more than 15 hours of delay they could retake the flight towards Santo Domingo.
`` Mira, after to have passed so many shortages and vicissitudes in the airport of France and already when we came arriving at the country presents/displays this situation that put the nerves of end to all those that we were within that apparatus, and we saw that it gave a bassoon to land and '' rose suddenly, explained Rose Rodriguez, native of Azua.

AF operates the 742 to SDQ.

While the translation of the article is ok, essentially, if I gathered correctly, the 742 was going to land in the wrong direction and at the last minute, the technical crew figured it out. Very interesting.

Bonjour Chef!
