The bad news is that I got run off the 'pull off' area on Perimeter Road on the south side of the field, which I (and typically a large crowd) consider to be THE best place to spot at MIA. It's just about abeam the touchdown point, really nice.  Sad

And there's been a bunch of rail cars over by El Dorado serious impairing the view.

The 94th Aero Squadron is still available, but I don't consider it to be nearly as nice, as it is farther away from the action.

Only upside today is that, while I was there, I did see a Martinair MD-11F and a Delta 727.

I think that the best place to spot in Miami is to get a job with one of the many contractors which are currently converting my favorite airport into a huge mess. What are they doing there? They used to have a nice view from the terminal too but it seems to be all gone...

Mia777: odd, in that I was there a couple of weeks ago, and Miami-Dade police drove by and didn't give us a hard time.

I *so* want to get a job in the Komatsu building across 836 so we can all have roof access.

At this point, it's only marginally nicer to spot from the 94th than from myu balcony in Doral -- at least here I have wireless internet access!  Smile

the thing is: 3 or 4 cops drove right past me on the inner perimeter roda and didn't care at all! Finally some Miami-Dade county official was sent after me...no gun...no cop...just a women security guard type...strange..

You can email me and perhaps if you've got time we can get together, depending on when in the week.

Actually, my wife will be busy fcrom here though Xmas day, so Maybe we can all get together for a quick spotters meet?
