I`m watchin the PHL Airport webcam and looking through the international deps and arrivals and I have noticed htat lately US Airways ontime performance has not been so good. tonight US flt. 126 SJU-PHL-LGW was delayed in PHL for about 20 mins, US 894 PHL-FRA had a slight delay, US 14 to Munich is delayed til 10:00pm (Scheduled to dep at 7:55p)and PHL-MAD was about 1/2 hour late. I have also noticed this on domestic flights. whats going on with all the recent delays?

I dont know, but i have recently noticed that all trans-atlantic flts arriving in PHL have expericenced some delays, many have been landing in Canada for a short time and then continue on to PHL, this includes AF, BA, as well as US flts from Europe. Also might have to do with the A330 slightly damaged during the FRA delay, that plane is out of service for a few weeks so they might have some problems with the substituting aircraft.

US Air European flight delays might also be as a result of having a A330 out of service due to a ground accident a few days back. Several LGW flights have been downgraded to a B767 as a result. The A330 is not expected to be back online until around the 24th.

I think it was two A330's of US Airways that were damaged. They hit eachother. Maybe one of them has already returned to service, but it's likely that is the reason for some of the delays.

Expect MORE delays! When they lay off close to half their staff, do you think the airplanes will depart on time? Several hundred more customer service cuts take affect January 5th, with NO regard as to how busy a certain station may be. The Florida markets are ADDING flights to the January and February schedule, but yet, STILL reducing staff! Go figure? Will it ever end? I hope these chapter 7 rumors aren't true, because that's 35,000+ more people you can add to the already overflowing unemployment line, which in my case, I know all too well. I was furloughed from USAirways back in April, after 18 years of dedicated service! SAD!
