Continental has ordered 26 767-400ERs for delivery from July 2000 on. Also, they have 10 767-200ERs on order with the first delivery in October. The interesting thing about these -200ERs is that they will have the same intertior and the same cockpit as the -400ERs!! That's right, a new cockpit for the old -200s.

CO has a total of 10 B767-200 on order.
We have a total of 16 -400 on order.
We have one firm option.
And we have 6 Decision dates on options.
And for the person above sorry that you are wrong. We will have a standard B767 cockpit on the -200. The -400 will have the B77 intertior, and cockpit.

I can see the logic in what CALPilot is saying:
If the cockpit of the -200 is a standard 767 cockpit, then the 757 pilot base can be used for these ships. CO can also have 757s and 767-200s on the same routes, and interchange between the aircraft depending on the # of passengers on the flights.
Same thing with the 777s and 767-400s, I imagine. The 777 pilots can fly the 767-400s, and aircraft can be interchanged depending on # of passengers.

The existing 757 and 767 pilots will be able to fly the 767-400ER as a common type, I would assume the 767-400ER has a "gauges under glass" concept in the cockpit like SWA's 737-700s, where the 777ish displays are programed to read more like the older style instrument panels in the existing 757/767s.

@t CO we will crew both the -200, and the -400 from the same sub-base of pilots. Even though our -400 will have the PFD instrumentation, we will be required to do differences training on the new generation cockpit. The B777 pilot will NOT be flying the B767-400. My type rating is good in the-400. The round gauges on a flat panel are avaiable for Altitude,and Vertical speed; however, I have been told to expect tape insturments on our -400's.

Yes, the-400 is much more B767, than triple 7 in systems. When we talk about the cockpits being simular, thats not enough to work the type ratings. The FAA and Boeing want it this way from what I have heard.

Sorry about the mix-up before. You are of course right, only the interiors will be new, not the cockpit. But are you sure on the number of -400s? The original order called for 30, then 4 were cancelled. The last I heard, that was it, and the Boeing website still has 26 on order.
