For those who care, I just passed FLL about 30 minutes ago and saw an MD11 parked at the DL gates.

Is that unusual?

Aren't DL MD11s and 772s common at FLL along with the 763s and 764s?

DL MD11s and 772s are quite regular at MCO with at least 2 of each or more a day

FLL barely gets the MD-11 or 777... mainly all 767-200/300/400s, along w/ the 757s, MD88s, MD90s, and the 737-200s...

I live in FLL and I don't ever remember seeing a MD-11! Used to see lots of L-1011'S but they were replaced with 764's

Hmm...FLL has been buzzing lately...the Embraer Legacy prototype was in yesterday, as well as an ATA 753...I think I saw a DL 777 earlier in the week at FLL...from ATL DL typically uses the 763/764 here...

Just on a related note, I'll be going to spot tomorrow (12/26) at FLL along with user AC320, details TBD, anyone who wants to come is more than welcome to...check nonav forum for details...

according to Delta: "Fight Crew Restrictions"
Also according to Delta MD-11s in Tampa
ALSO... it will come back around 5 and leave around 6
AND
According to Delta: comair/asa flight to Atlanta
it should be back to normal tomorrow

anyone know what Flight Crew Restrictions means and how this helped us get an MD 11

USAFHummer,

I should be inbound tomorrow (I say "should" because it's snowing quite heavily right now and im unsure how its going to be tomorrow morning) on DL 1127, a 764 from ATL around 11:30am or so. If you get a shot of that aircraft coming in, let me know and I'll give you an email address that you could send it to me.

If not, that's fine, it may be earlier than you are going to get out there. Whatever is convenient!

Thanks in advance.

It is not unusual to see a larger plane brought in due to heavy passenger loads. Instead of adding an extra section, DL must have figured that a MD-11 could handle the demand for that flight.

ATA schedules the 757-300 on thier FLL-IND service everyday except Saturdays, when it operates with a 737-800.

I'll be coming in saturday night on an Express 732 from JFK.

Is Express still at EWR? Are these JFK-FLL flights completely full? I got a cheap ticket on Expedia about 10 days before the trip which was a surprise. round trip in DL was equivalent to one way on Jetblue.

hmmm...

TNNH...I'd say its a safe bet your flight will be full...flights from the Northeast to South Florida are packed always regardless of time of day and year...and the JFK-FLL route is one of the most in-demand routes in the US...

Not that I could make it today, dangit, but for future reference, is the level 7 the roof of the long term or short term parking lot?

(You can tell I'm not familiar with FLL)

can we turn back to the MD-11 for a minute....
I already posted this, but i feel it is the only way to get back to the topic

1) What does "flight Crew Restrictions" mean?
2) Did a MD-11 go to Tampa
3) Did the MD-11 come back to FLL
4) if anyone was on the MD-11 to FLL or Tampa yesterday, can you give any more info.

Sorry I was not there today.
One of my dogs decided it was a good idea to eat a rock the size of a golfball.

If any of you are going to be there any other day let me know, I will be glad to meet with you.
