Does anyone know what airlines fly the MD-11 regularly into Sydney? I know FedEx flies in on a regular basis but anyone else? JAL?

Gemini Air Cargo (under contract to QF Cargo!). They also have an MD11 into Melbourne.

Thai International operate their evening BKK-SYD-MEL-BKK as a MD11 still I believe.

Thats it I think?

Cheers - BZF

As stated above...Gemini does fly one MD-11 in on Sundays (arrives around 2000Z). The plane is under contract with BAX Global which has an agreement with Qantas to help fill the plane up. The flights started in 1998 when BAX was expanding fairly rapidly. Use to be flown was an Evergreen 742. Either way...Gemini Flight 7552 originates in JFK and flies into the BAX sorting hub at TOL (Toledo OH) to load up. It then makes a stop in LAX, HNL, and Pago Pago (I can't remember the identifier...PGO?) before terminating in SYD.

The flight usually is suspended during the month of January for the slow season - but I'll check into it to see if they will continue to fly it this month or not.

Others visit on an ad-hoc basis on charters or temorary aircraft swaps, such as Swiss, China Airlines and soon to be Eva.

Wow it really sucks to be Korean Air Cargo.

You know, separate topic, but it sucks there's no more MD-11Fs being built. What is the world supposed to do for a 90t freighter?

Buy second hand MD-11s from Delta etc. and convert them to freighters.
