 Smile Hi everyone!  Smile

We just booked our flights to Turkey next year, flying on JMC (A320).
I recently heard a rumour that Thomas Cook are buying out JMC.
So will I be flying an A320 with JMC or will I be flying on an A320 in Thomas Cook livery?

Thanks for your help!

JMC becomes Thomas Cook Airlines from May 2003. Not really a buy out just a new name for the airline as Thomas Cook already owns JMC (John Mason Cook) It's likely that you will still be flying on a JMC coloured A320 but under Thomas Cook Airlines. I read in the Thomas Cook magazine last week that they hope to have all their 85 strong fleet in the new livery by the summer although at the rate JMC are painting their bit of the fleet i doubt this will happen.

Like Demoose said it is a rebranding rather than a buy-out. If you are flying after the end of March the new name of the airline will be Thomas Cook Airlines.

Plenty of JMC aircraft booked into Southend this Winter for repaints so the majority I imagine will be in TCA livery by Summer 03. Will ask my friend who works for them.

Ok, thanks for that.
I'm flying end of July time, so it looks like most of the aircraft will be in the Thomas Cook livery.

I flew to DLM with JMC from BHX this Summer on a 752 and obviously on the outside it was the fab JMC Air livery (G-FCLH/G-FCLC) but on the TV screens and all promotonal stuff inside was Thomas Cook. The change is storming  Smile

Does anybody know when BY TUI will have all of their a/c painted? Esp the 763s? I work for the Tui company and ot a great discount for my Holiday to the Maldives next Winter and it should be on a BY 763 from MAN so just wanna kno when all of the 763s will be in the TUI colours?

I would like to see a 762 painted in the new Britannia TUI colours, it is the only aircraft type not to appear in the colours yet, A310 (HF) 738, 757, 763 all in TUI colours

Heard today that ALL JMC aircraft WILL be painted in Thomas Cook livery by April, including the A330's.

More repaints are due over the winter but last I heard was that it is a 3 year rolling programme so 2004-2005 before all the a/c will be in TUI colours.

And a little birdy told me there are (at present) no intentions to repaint any of the four 762s  Wow!
