Don't' forget: 2003 we will proudly celebrate the 100th birthday of the first motor-driven flight in human history. It took only 12 seconds - 12 seconds that changed the world forever! A little update on the facts? Go here:

There are many things going on, here is a very good website with more about this:

Does anyone know about plans for some special color schemes to commemorate this 100 years of motor-driven flight? Any news on this?

And last not least, a new model company, PiXelport, is celebrating this with the release of a model airport named ORVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. That is a nice little tribute:

I know that everyone wants to be the "first" one to post the Centennial Of Flight tribute.

But you are still about 350 or so days too early.

ummm, i hate to do this... but: 1st motor powered HEAVIER THAN AIR flight, a certain count in Germany was flying around under power in airships before the Wright Flyer was even thought of.

The funny thing is that,

The First heavier than air flight was only about 120ft, The second flight that took place 30mins later was almost 3/4 of a mile.
