An AN12 of Azza Transport Company operating on behalf of Sudan Air Force had an engine failure and suffered an additional engine failure during the return to Khartoum.
Shortly after, the aircraft broke apart during emergency landing - 13 people perished, 9 have been injured.

I don't know how people commenting on AV Herald know that the two engines were on the same wing, but if so, i believe it would have much more impact on flight performance then if one engine went out on each wing.

According to the BBC a Sudanese military spokesman said that the pilot radioed loss of an engine and that he was returning. Shortly thereafter the pilot specifically reported loss of the second engine on the same side causing the aircraft to be "unbalanced."

It also said that in the AV Herald story.

But, loosing two engines on one side if the airplane is heavy (which it probibly was, but I don't know for sure), departing a "high hot" airport like KRT (more than 1,200' ASL field elevation) doesn't leave a lot of airplane performance left to control the airplane.

The type was the An-12BP, registration # ST-ASA. Azza had, before this loss 2 An-12BPs and 1 AN-12BK in their fleet, at least 1 An-26 and 2 Il-76TDs.

Azza's last crash was the 2009 B-707F crash at SHJ
