Hi all,
I landed in HKG from BKK this morning around noon, and saw what it seemed to be an A310 in a full black livery. I could notice some Arabic characters covered up.
Anyone knows where's this aircraft from? Is it a state aircraft?
I couldn't see the reg nor take a picture....

Are you sure it was black, and not a dark gray? The RCAF CC-150s, Polaris, (A-310s, 2 are tankers called the CC-150T, 1 is a VIP, and 2 are strategic transports) are painted a very dark glossy gray. The titles are both in English and French.

I know Etihad and Royal Jordanian are very dark painted. ( Etihad special F1 livery ) But those are not A310 afaik.

Are you sure there were Arabic characters? If so, it could also have been a Royal Jordanian Cargo plane... I would bet on the Canadian PM one though.

Thank you all for the information. Indeed it looks like the aircraft I saw, and the lighting conditions made it look darker hence I thought it was black.
It is nice to see A310's around still! Is the A310 the main state aircraft used by the P.M in Canada?

I mixed up the Arabic charcaters from far away with the "Canada" title, but still I could have made the difference between an A310 and a B77W

It depends on the type of mission. For important diplomatic missions overseas like the current one to India, the A310 is always used.
The RCAF also has some VIP Challenger 600s that the PM uses:
