In my Sunday newspaper I saw a picture of family Obama leaving to Chicago for the weekend. The question came up what airport Air Force One does use there. And also what aircraft. Do they take the 747 for this rather short flight or a smaller aircraft?

Quoting BravoGolf (Reply 1): He used ORD for AF 1 and then used Marine One to fly to Burman near his home.
Thanks. But the other question: as we know is every aircraft on where the President is on-board AF 1. Does he fly with the 747 (or what ever it is called in the army) to ORD or with another smaller aircraft?

Before he was sworn in as the POTUS, President Bush sent a USAF C-32 to pick-up Obama and family at MDW. MDW is actually closer to his home.
