Near Olney probably put it operating in one of the Westover MOAs...

That can't be good. C-17s have been known to take some spills on airfields and survive fairly well for a large aircraft, but this said near Olney, Texas. This can't be good. .I really hope everyone is okay. I have alot of friends who are loadmasters etc.

Either CNN has a real scoop or misunderstood something. No one else, including the Dallas news outlets, are reporting anything.

That's odd, isn't it? CNN claims to have confirmed it with Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls...

Actually it says officials at Sheppard could not confirm.

It does now...that's odd. It also says that observers were calling the Olney Police Department with reports that a plane was flying low and crashed.

They keep changing it every few minutes...

You would think some local outlets would be reporting, but they aren't, at least none of the ones I could check.

I am in Denton, TX and the winds here are howling. This entire area has been under wind advisories the past 48 hours, with winds in the 45-55mph range.

Hope everyone is OK, maybe it's not as bad as it sounds.

Drew

Air Force says no crash according to CNN. Sounds like they sent someone out to the flightline to count planes... all present!
