Just read this on yahoo. I hope all goes well for the crew and families. It's too bad that it's the 2nd crash in 2 months at EDW. I guess it's kinda going back to the dawn of the jet age back in the 50s when crashes were common. I hope this isn't a trend to follow, though. Best of luck to them.

Article says pilot was killed and back seater was injured. Cause of crash still unknown. No further information available.

The T-38 is showing its age - could we say it's getting long in the "talon"? It's high time a replacement is found. Currently, two potential candidates look promising.....

It seems this would shape to be a proxy battle between Boeing and Lockheed Martin - with the former having signed a marketing agreement for the M-346; and the latter being the main partner in the T-50's development. The question is if the troubled co-production on the JCA between Boeing and Alenia, and Lockheed's hold on KAI for local and export variants, would adversely affect the two trainers' prospects in the USN and USAF.
