Just had some fighters fly by the house here, the odd thing is that its 12:15AM (woke me up), in Annapolis, MD. This has never happened before and they were pretty low and sounded like they were going slow with one or two in trail. I turned my scanner on just when I got out of bed and someone had keyed on Guard but I didn't get any voice. Anyone know whats up?

Most likely it was an ADC scramble and intercept of some poor soul who violated the ADIZ around DC.

Could it be some training ops? Early this morning (1am'ish) in Chicago some F-16s were practicing intercepting maneuvers. I didn't get the whole story as I was leaving my car for work, but the morning show host on WGN radio was talking to a NORAD rep about the flights above Chicago. I have yet to find any stories on-line about this. But maybe they are related somehow?

Possibly, but after midnight on a Sunday they probably are not doing much training...
