Hi fellows,
I would like to share with you this photographic reportage posted on the most famous and visited Italian Aviation Forum.
This reportage has been made by a person that had the lucky chance to fly with the Italian troops during their flight to Afghanistan and, once there, to take part to some real missions.
Even though the comments are in Italian you will surely enjoy these pictures showing B-767, C-130J, CH-47, A-129 Mangusta and a couple of US Blackhawks in their “real habitat” (some of these shots/videos are really fantastic, especially those one taken during the tactical flights from the rear port of the CH-47).
So, enjoy it and feel free to add comments!
Please note that the pictures have been posted in more than one post, so in order to have a complete view of this reportage, you should browse the thread completely.

I have noticed that the Herc is parked with its flaps deployed in takeoff position. Why is that? Is it a part of combat-ready operating procedure, so it is able to take off immediately after the engines are started?
