I was much suprised to look up a couple of hours ago and see Air Force One out my front window today. It took off from Dyess, circled, and landed. No VIP's are in town today.

Quoting BoeingFixer (Reply 1): If the US President is not aboard it is not called Air Force One.
My fault. I got excited. Seeing a Boeing 747/VC-25 around here is quite unusual.

Their hanger at ADW is blocked off by taxiway repair construction and they don't have hanger space to keep her clean so they keep moving to stay out of the weather. Got chased out of TIK last night running from a huge tstorm and hail. Just my 2 cents but she VC-25 has a 195ft wing span, the A330 has 197 ft wing span, the 330 would have the same problem of finding hanger space in the USAF/DOD.

What a ridiculous thing to do. Complete waste of money.

I don't think they have many other options, what else can they do other than moving it?
If God had wanted men to fly he would have given them more money...

Quoting RFields5421 (Reply 6): Are you sure it was a VC-25 and not an E-4B ?
That's what I wondered when this thread first popped up, but I don't know the poster who started this thread and didn't want to insult him lol.

Pretty sure, its tail # 29000 with a big decal on both sides that says President of the United States. It just got out of D check in Boeing Wichita and they are flying it hard to get all the bugs worked out that you usally have after a heavy D check. Tinker is a heavy mx base that can provide alot of support and not pay out through the nose if they kept it at Boeing.

Quoting ZANL188 (Reply 9): I hope it says "United States of America" like it's supposed too...
Both aircraft types have the same name on the side, but the VC-25 has a round decal on the front below the blue line of the Presidential Seal.
The VC-25 has a swoosh of blue over the cockpit and part of the upper deck, and on the front of the vertical stabilizer. The E-4B only has a blue cheat line along the windows and a bit of light blue over the front of the cockpit under and over the windows - both have the air to air refueling points under the cockpit windows.
Many people confuse the E-4B with the VC-25 though they are pretty different when you look at side by side photos.
