BAF A330: Nice Livery. Watch The Detail!

Aside the clumsy font type which is choosing for the 'Belgian Air Force'-titles the Belgian Air Force A330 is showing a nice livery design: a classic cheatline, a nicely designed tailfin layout with the Belgian Air Force logo. But look at the roof top painting which is in the Belgian national colours. Cool detail!

Nice. Winglets remind me somehow to the VG Airlines design (created by Lila Design).

Disagree, I think the bird looks quite horrible. Cutting off an official, heraldic coat of arms like that is just not done, and the rooftop cheatline is a ridiculous innovation. Fancy paint schemes just don't work on military/government aircraft IMHO...

Frankly, I don't much care for it either. Looks like all the attention went into painting the tail with the rest of the airplane having what might be called a stock paint scheme.

They certainly do work very well:

That's one of the very best of them all.

However, the rest of the plane looks quite bland. But not as bland as it used to look when we would see it in Sydney all the time when it was with Strategic Aviation.

I think the stripes on the roof look odd - if they wanted to pick up the national colors, they should have used them as the cheat line.

But that would have been too common, to expectable. This roof paint design triggers.

I expected better. Frankly, the former operator's colour scheme was more pleasing to the eye, even if predominantly Eurowhite.....

I dont see why the cheatline must be blue. Blue is not a Belgian colour. Black at least for the cheatline (and if it comes to me, also the tail) would have been better and would have made the livery more elegant imho.

To be honest I prefer the VG Airlines winglets! IMO the ones on the Air Force A330 look too wavy! They should be streight like what they were on VG Airlines!

It would be interesting to see a photo of it from above to see how it looks!

Thanks DEVILFISH. To be honest I'm not sure if I like it or not? It's certainly different! I think maybe they would have been better off with the Belgian flag on the whole of the tail, that would certainly stand out!

From above, it actually looks nice... but then, how many people get to see it from above , and side-on it just looks silly.
